About Our Hospital
Guided by strong ethical values and social commitment, Saroja was founded by Dr. K. N. Pisharoty MD; MRCP; DTM, Dean at Stanley Medical College, Professor of Medicine at Madras Medical College and the first Principal of Calicut Medical College, in 1967. The hospital was later taken over by Dr. K. Sarojini and Dr. S. K. Pisharoty, two eminent doctors of Trichur. A humble start as a mother and child care centre at the heart of the city, it gradually gained greater momentum rendering care and trust and now has grown into a Multi-Speciality Hospital where state-of-the-art technology and an eminent pool of medical professionals merge.

History About SAROJA Multispeciality Hospital
Started as a maternity hospital at the heart of Thrissur town, catering to the needs of the people of the people of Thrissur and adjoining districts, it grew into a multi-speciality hospital with eminent doctors of all specialities.
Short history about Saroja Hospital
56 Years of Care & Trust
- Started in 1967 by Dr. K. Sarojini (1930-1981) and Dr. S K Pisharoty (1921-1991), are the persons behind the goodwill of the hospital.
- The core team of doctors then (1967-1981) were Dr. K F Manavalan (Pediatrics) Dr. Chandrika Panicker, Dr. Ravindranathan(Physician) and Dr. Thomas Joseph(Surgeon) , helped to bring fame to the hospital.
- Dr. Narayanan Pisharody (Gynaec) took over administration charges as well as Gyneac dept. in 1986. The main doctors of that time were Dr. Narayanan, Dr. Ramani, Dr. Vasanthi, Dr. Paul Kallukkaran, Dr. Antoy Kavalakkat ; and of course Dr K F Manavalan, and Dr. Ravindranathan continued their work in the hospital.
- In 1994, Dr. Krishnan Pisharoty (Anesthesiologist) started working in the hospital.
- In 2001, TIHANS started functioning and still running as a major department. Along with TIHANS various surgical consultants joined and so many surgeries were done and the hospital developed in to a major surgical center.
- The hospital has undergone a major expansion. In addition to the existing departments, Urology, Neonatology, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Laparoscopic Surgery, Arthroscopic Surgery, Joint replacement and Plastic Surgery are the new departments which have been developed.
